As a supplier of integrated solutions in services, refractory products, equipment and raw materials, Magnesita places at the disposal of its customers the Technical Support Department, which comprises more than 100 professionals, with high level technical training and advanced practical knowledge.

This team continually works to analyze processes; specifying high performance products that are matched to each customer’s operational conditions, contributing to reduced specific consumption of refractory products, and to increased productivity and improved equipment availability.

Contract Based on Performance – CPP

With the implementation of the business model of Contracts Based on Performance (CPP) with customers, the Technical Support Department works constantly to achieve the targeted results.

Customized solutions are developed according to each customer’s operational practices. In addition to providing high performance refractory products, Magnesita engineers and supplies advanced mechanical equipment for refractory application (pneumatic guns, spreaders, etc.). Finite element analysis is utilized to model molten steel fluid dynamics and thermo-mechanical stresses imposed on steelmaking process equipment. Numerous computer models (Foamy Slag Mass Balance, Slag Optimization, etc.) are used to fine tune slag practices. A full line of state of the art flow control mechanical equipment is also produced by Magnesita.

In addition to the technical support “generalists” on the team, customers also have available to them a group of Magnesita specialists with broad experience in specific operational segments of the industry (Integrated steel mills, EAF Carbon steel mills, Stainless & Alloy steel mills, Flow Control). These specialists help in benchmarking and the implementation of industry best practices in order to maximize performance in all processes.
