Magnesita

Magnesita has an active program to recycle used refractory products, thereby minimizing environmental impacts and improving the sustainability of the supply chain. In Brazil the company has invested in two industrial units for processing of these materials, with a current production capacity of 5700 tons per month.

The diversity of refractory products used in iron and steel plants requires that rigid control is maintained during all phases of the process (used refractory removal, separation, packing, identification, transportation, processing and consumption of the reprocessed refractory products). Successful recycling of used refractories is enabled by the partnership between Magnesita and its customers.
